- Intro Numbers - General Introduction Numbers leads Israel from Sinai to the Jordan: trust tested, mercy received, and inheritance prepared in the light of Christ.
- 1 Numbers 1 - Census and the Guarded Sanctuary Israel is counted by name for the journey, while the Levites guard the sanctuary so that nearness to God becomes life rather than presumption.
- 2 Numbers 2 - The Camp Around the Tabernacle The tribes keep their places around the tabernacle, and the Lord's dwelling remains among them when the camp begins to move.
- 3 Numbers 3 - Levites and the Ransom of the Firstborn The Levites belong to the Lord in place of Israel's firstborn, and the ransom of the remaining sons reveals service rooted in deliverance.
- 4 Numbers 4 - Carrying the Holy Things The sanctuary is covered and carried by appointed hands. Its boundaries protect the servants, and every hidden burden belongs to the Lord.
- 5 Numbers 5 - Cleansing the Camp and Restitution God's dwelling requires truth, restitution, and fidelity. The difficult jealousy law is read with care for the accused and in Christ's light.
- 6 Numbers 6 - Nazirites and the Priestly Blessing A freely offered vow consecrates ordinary life, then gives way to the Lord's blessing, shining face, and peace.
- 7 Numbers 7 - Tribal Offerings for the Altar Each tribe's gift is named in full before the altar, and the long account ends with Moses hearing the Lord's voice above the mercy seat.
- 8 Numbers 8 - Lamps and Levite Consecration The lamps are tended, the Levites are offered to the Lord, and service receives both purification and a limit on its heavy work.
- 9 Numbers 9 - Second Passover and the Cloud God opens a holy way for the hindered to keep Passover, then teaches the whole camp to wait and move at His command.
- 10 Numbers 10 - Silver Trumpets and Departure from Sinai Priestly trumpets, shared service, and the ark’s prayer teach Israel to place worship, danger, departure, and rest before the Lord.
- 11 Numbers 11 - Complaining and the Seventy Elders Israel despises manna while Moses cannot bear the people alone. God exposes enslaving appetite and gives His Spirit for shared service.
- 12 Numbers 12 - Miriam and Aaron Challenge Moses God defends Moses against contempt, and Moses prays for Miriam’s healing. Prophetic faithfulness leads beyond the servant to Christ the Son.
- 13 Numbers 13 - Spies, the Cluster, and the Promise The spies bring back the land’s fruit but spread fear. Joshua’s new name and Caleb’s courage teach faith to receive the promise without denying danger.
- 14 Numbers 14 - Unbelief, Intercession, and Wilderness Judgment Moses pleads God’s mercy for a rebellious people. Forgiveness preserves their future, while judgment exposes unbelief and the false courage of presumption.
- 15 Numbers 15 - Offerings, Sabbath Breaking, and Tassels After wilderness judgment, God still promises the land. Offerings, forgiveness, Sabbath judgment, and blue fringes teach a people to remember and obey.
- 16 Numbers 16 - Korah’s Rebellion Korah seeks holy service on his own terms; Aaron runs toward the dying. Judgment and intercession reveal the weight of a calling received from God.
- 17 Numbers 17 - Aaron’s Rod Buds Aaron’s rod bears buds, blossoms, and almonds. God’s sign ends rivalry, protects life, and becomes a Coptic hymn of the Incarnation.
- 18 Numbers 18 - Priestly Duties and Portions God answers Israel’s fear with guarded holy service, provision for its ministers, and the promise that He Himself is their portion.
- 19 Numbers 19 - Red Heifer and Cleansing from Death The red heifer provides cleansing from contact with death. Hebrews leads the Church to Christ, whose blood cleanses the conscience for living service.
- 20 Numbers 20 - Meribah, Aaron Dies, and Edom Refuses At Kadesh, mercy flows even as Moses and Aaron are judged. Grief, a closed road, and priestly succession reveal the demands of faithful service.
- 21 Numbers 21 - Bronze Serpent and Wilderness Victories The wounded look and live; Christ names the sign as a figure of His Cross. Repentance opens into thanksgiving, water, and courage for the road.
- 22 Numbers 22 - Balaam, the Donkey, and the Angel Balaam confesses the boundary of God’s word while his desire tests it, until the donkey and the angel expose the road he is taking.
- 23 Numbers 23 - Blessing That Cannot Be Bought God turns a commissioned curse into blessing and exposes the difference between desiring a righteous end and living in obedience.
- 24 Numbers 24 - The Star and the Coming King The blessings of Israel open toward the star and the coming King, while Balaam’s divided life remains a warning.
- 25 Numbers 25 - Baal Peor and Phinehas’ Zeal At Peor, desire becomes false worship; the covenant of peace is received through Christ’s self-offering, never as permission for rage.
- 26 Numbers 26 - The Second Census and the Preserved Sons of Korah The second census prepares named households for inheritance, remembers judgment, and records the survival of the sons of Korah.

- 28-29 Numbers 28-29 - Daily, Festival, and Seasonal Offerings The daily and festal offerings consecrate Israel’s time and find their fulfilment in Christ’s one sacrifice and the gift of the Spirit.
- 30 Numbers 30 - Vows and Faithful Speech A vow binds the speaker before God. Numbers 30 joins truthful words, household responsibility, and the humility to correct rash promises.
- 31 Numbers 31 - Judgment on Midian Numbers 31 confronts judgment, captivity, and purification. Christian reception turns the battle toward the passions beneath the Cross.
- 32 Numbers 32 - Reuben, Gad, and Half Manasseh East of Jordan Reuben and Gad may settle east of Jordan, but must keep faith with their brothers. A received gift does not remove shared responsibility.
- 33 Numbers 33 - The Stages of the Journey Israel remembers the whole road to Jordan. Origen reads its stages through Christ, conversion, tested faith, and persevering hope.
- 34 Numbers 34 - The Boundaries of the Inheritance God defines the promised land and names its allotment leaders. Inheritance is received with limits, gratitude, and faithful stewardship.
- 35 Numbers 35 - Cities of Refuge and the Death of the High Priest Refuge protects a hearing without denying bloodshed. Release at the high priest’s death opens a careful reflection on Christ and inheritance.
- 36 Numbers 36 - Inheritance, Marriage, and the Threshold of the Land Zelophehad’s daughters retain their gift within Israel’s inheritance. Numbers ends at Jordan, where faithful reception prepares the crossing.
